FROM AROUND THE WEB ‘N SUCH…
In case you missed it: It was a big week for Libra mom Gwyneth Paltrow, first announcing the divorce, er, “conscious uncoupling” from her husband, Coldplay lead and Pisces Chris Martin, and her open-mouth-insert-foot comments about working mothers. At least Slate lightened things up with a widget to find out how the Oscar actress would describe your relationship status.
Not to be outdone, fellow Libra mom Kim Kardashian set tongues wagging by appearing on VOGUE’s cover with Gemini husband Kanye West (and inside with Gemini daughter North West). Apparently, the two were first set to appear on Harper’s Bazaar. Despite the dis, Harper’s exec editor says, “Kim and Kanye are the greatest example of conscious coupling. We wish them all the best.” Now, the term is officially as overexposed as they are.
Who’s the Boss? Sagittarius Alyssa Milano and her husband announced they’re expecting baby #2! Milano’s first child, Milo, is a Virgo born in 2011. She joins fellow pregnant Sagittarians Scarlett Johannson and Christina Aguilera in the mamas-to-be league.
Also preggers: Leo Mila Kunis and Aquarius Ashton Kutcher announced this week that they’re expecting, too.
We couldn’t believe The New Yorker gave us an Onion-style blog post about the proliferation of long-form parenting think-pieces. (To wit: “A recent study has shown that if American parents read one more long-form think piece about parenting they will go f—ing ape shit.”) Hard to imagine that this long-form parenting think-piece from The Atlantic, “The Overprotected Kid,” wasn’t inspiration. Ouch.
Here’s your Friday inspiration: cerebral palsy prevented one mom’s son from being able to walk, so she invented a harness for him and other children to be able to walk.
